Weddings & Baptisms

weddingsWeddings are conducted throughout the year and the Vicar will be pleased to help you prepare for your big day. There are, however, some current legal requirements which you will need to know about. Some frequently asked questions include ‘Can I marry outside of my parish?’, ‘Do I need to have been baptised in order to marry in Church?’, and ‘What is the Church’s current position on the remarriage of divorcees?’

Please contact the Vicar for confirmation of these issues. You can also read the guidelines on the Church of England Website.

baptismsBaptisms also take place throughout the year at All Saints. Many people bring their children to be baptised/christened as infants, some come much later in life. There is no age limit to baptism. However, teenagers and adults will normally be prepared for Confirmation at the same time as baptism.

As the person to be baptised is entering the family of the Church, all baptisms at All Saints take place in the main Sunday service - so that the local family of the Church is present to welcome its new member. Again, please contact the Vicar if you wish baptism for yourself or your child - he will be only too pleased to help you.

More information on Baptism can be found on the Church of England Website.
